This painting was created with gouache to show the isolation of intersectional oppression. Women are known for having a "glass ceiling", an idiom representing the challenges of misogyny. However, how does it feel as a black woman, when that "glass ceiling" isn't just a ceiling, but walls putting you into a box that you contort yourself to fit in? The answer is, it feels isolating, being overlooked in both women's movements and black advocacy.
